Sheraton Style Furniture

Sheraton style furniture is an English furniture style. It is characterized by delicate and straight lines with a much lighter construction as its design. The design is made of light wood and hence the furniture items are lighter in weight to carry and move from one place to another. The design also includes light ornamentation as a part of design and attraction. The wooden items add elegance and beauty to the furniture because of refined design and carvings made to give attractive touch. In Sheraton style furniture, unlike the Chippendale style, the curved lines, structures and shapes are removed and preference is given to straight light carved designs. Borders with painted designs add beauty to the furniture items. The main design and structure along with the basic frame of the furniture is made of mahogany or satin wood, whereas for décor and design in between the frames of the items is made out of woods of tulip and rose wood. This was the most reproduced and famous style in the US during the federal period thereof.
